My name is Heather Hoshiko, 2006 graduate of DCA. At Dayspring I built a strong foundation for my academic and personal growth. After graduating, I moved from Greeley to San Diego to attend Point Loma Nazarene University, earning a BA in Psychology. My passion for knowledge led me to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, for a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
In 2016, I returned to San Diego to complete my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Southern California Seminary. After 15 rewarding years in California, my husband Chris and I felt a divine calling to relocate to San Antonio in 2023.
I married Chris Cunningham on July 31, 2023, in Estes Park, Colorado. We share our lives with our two dogs, Delilah and Smudge, and have a passion for travel and animals.
My professional journey in psychology has taken me through a variety of settings, including private practices, nonprofit organizations, and inpatient psychiatric wards. I strive to embody the spirit of Proverbs 31:25, living “clothed in strength and dignity, laughing without fear of the future.”
Recently, I took a break due to health challenges, but I have dedicated over ten years to teaching as an adjunct, associate, and tenure-track professor. I have had the privilege of guiding graduate students at Bethel University and serving as the Undergraduate Psychology Director at Azusa Pacific University.
My personal struggles inspired me to mentor young people facing similar challenges. My education has been a great gift, and I aim to make it enjoyable and accessible for others.
Dayspring provided me with unique opportunities that significantly impacted my life. I appreciated the smaller class sizes and the sense of community, which fostered personalized learning experiences. The school’s four-day week positively affected staff morale and family time, contributing to a better work-life balance.
In conclusion, I am grateful for the passionate faculty at Dayspring who dedicated themselves to student success. Their commitment to education and faith has inspired my journey, and I cherish the love and encouragement I’ve received along the way.
My name is Nathanael Montesano, and I graduated from Dayspring in 2008. I feel incredibly blessed in my life; I am married to my amazing wife, and we will celebrate 11 wonderful years of marriage on December 14th. Together, we are raising three beautiful daughters.
Our eldest, Naomi, is in the 3rd grade with Miss McCutchan and has attended Dayspring since
kindergarten. Hope, our spirited six-year-old, is in 1st grade with Miss Nettles. Our youngest,
Natalia, is 2 1⁄2 years old and currently in daycare at ABC East, where my wife works.
Looking back, I can see how the Lord has guided me. I spent five and a half years coachi freshman football at Greeley West, where I formed lasting relationships with my players – relationships that lasted beyond their high school years. I have witnessed God’s favor and have been blessed with quick promotions in my career. I have also served as a youth leader for over 11 years. I truly believe that God has always prepared me for the next step in my journey. Currently, I am a SPED para at Northridge High School where I enjoy working with some incredible kids!
God’s goodness has been evident in my life, and I engage in Bible studies and music as part of my spiritual journey and leadership in my church. I am also working toward my license to become a minister in the UPCI organization.
Reflecting on my time at Dayspring, I will forever cherish what I learned in Mrs. Colgate “Understanding the Times” course, lessons relevant to today’s challenges. The friendships I formed and the guidance I received from my teachers and coaches have significantly impacted my life
inspiring continual growth in my faith in Jesus. I am especially grateful that my daughters have the opportunity to attend such a wonderful school!
I am grateful to Coach Holmes, Jason Renouf, Mr. Lowe, Coach Welsh, Mrs. Welch, Mrs. Colgate, Mr. B, Mrs. Crider, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Deyong, Mr. Morris, Mr. Webber, Coach Mundfrom, and Mrs. Roberts who each played a vital role in preparing me for life.
As I continue on this journey, I look forward to where the Lord will lead me next, trusting in His plans for my life.
