Our Generosity

Dayspring Generosity Principles

One of the primary goals of Dayspring Christian Academy is to help Christians think from a biblical worldview perspective. This includes not just our students and their families but also our ministry partners. When it comes to your giving and our asking we are trying to follow a biblical perspective made up of seven principles.
  1. God Owns It All (1 Chronicles29:14)
God has given each of us all our time, wealth, possessions and influence. God owns everything. God also owns our school and all of the ministry and education that takes place there. These resources are His gifts to us, which He is using to accomplish wonderful things for his kingdom.
  1. We Are Only Managers Of God’s Resources (1 Peter 4:10)
Because God owns everything, Christians are called to be stewards or managers of everything God entrusts to them, in order to honor and glorify Him.
  1. All Our Giving Is To God (Romans 12:1; Philippians 4:17)
Giving is a worshipful, obedient act of returning to God what He has provided, acknowledging our dependence and thankfulness to Him. All of our giving should be directed to God and His work, not to an organization. Any and all of our giving is a spiritual decision.
  1. God Is Watching Our Giving (Romans 14:12, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Luke 16)
From God’s Kingdom view, our giving is a tool to further His work on earth. It is a test of our dependence and love toward him and serves as trademark of our lives as Christians. Our generosity is to reflect or mirror the generosity of our heavenly Father who gave to the point of giving His own Son for our salvation.
  1. God Is Our Fundraiser (1 Chronicles 29:9, 2 Corinthians 9:7)
When needs are shared, the response of givers comes from the heart. God alone is the One who stirs hearts and moves spirits.
  1. There is a Biblical Way For Christians To Raise Funds ( 1 Chronicles 29:9, Exodus 35:21, 2 Corinthians 8-9)
Examples from David, Moses, and Paul show that Dayspring’s responsibility is to share the need, provide opportunities for stewards to respond, and allow God the opportunity to stir hearts and move spirits.
  1. The Role of Dayspring Christian Academy (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The role of Dayspring Christian Academy is to advance and facilitate a believer’s faith in and worship of God through a Christ-centered understanding of stewardship and generosity that is solidly grounded on Scripture.

These seven principles show us that we give because God first gave to us and we recognize that God alone is the owner of all we have from our talent and influence to our material possessions and money. Our God is a giving God who does not withhold anything from us including his own Son. Every act of generosity is a reflection of the God we worship.

At Dayspring we rejoice with every gift given knowing that each gift moves the heart of the giver that much closer to the heart of God. Our gifts glorify God, transform hearts, bless students, and grow God’s kingdom
